My first blog on my first blog, not sure quite how this is supposed to go but gotta start somewhere....Im Jessica (introduction is obviously to any non-family/friends who might stumble across this and wonder who the hell is droning on) and this is a blog about our home improvement (that's me and my boyfriend Mark). Project "Up Andover" hilarious and witty title suggested by marks work colleague because the house is in Andover. I must start by explaining this is our first attempt at home improvement (excepting the shed Mark built in our last garden with help from his dad - thanks Derek!) So me - Im a total novice and Mark, well he's a fair few bricks in the wall ahead of me but its still quite a leap from shed building to what we have planned. Having received a lot of the tools we will need at Christmas (not my favourite Christmas presents I have to admit but thank you all the same!) and Mark having bought new tool boxes for them (one of many shopping trips I'm gonna have to learn to love!) I feel we are ready to undertake the task ahead. Mark has a half marathon the weekend we complete so unfortunately we cant start until the following week when there will be some light cleaning to do first! As Marks brother politely remarked on visiting the house before Christmas "it fackin stinks". So us and our army - that's both sets of 'rents (consider this an invite ma n pa if I haven't mentioned this yet) are going to attack the house the following weekend. Latest news is we've exchanged contracts as of Wednesday (11th Jan) so are definitely buying a house...nay THIS house, together -

There is a lot to do and with my limited literary skill/flamboyance I will endeavour to describe it on here and keep you up to date with all the highs and lows as they happen. You never know we might hear from Mark along the way if he taps into his artistic side! For now I will leave you until the project gets under way.
